Position Summary Join Baxter in our mission to save and sustain lives by playing an integral role as we drive our plant forward by leading the development of solutions to challenging problems. Leading a small group of talented controls engineers, you'll work with project managers by directing your team in planning, executing and directing critical engineering assignments related to electrical equipment and control systems in a regulated environment. Job Responsibilities Applies state of the art techniques in the area of expertise to develop new or improved processes. Lead or support multiple capital projects. Ensure new automation and controls technology being introduced aligns with current plant standards. Must be able to provide solutions that reflect understanding business objectives and cost implications. Maintain quality and safety standards by understanding current operational needs. Work with various business units to help support day to day priorities. Independently plans, schedules and leads cross-functional teams in detailed phases of the engineering work in a project. May supervise several Controls Engineers. Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) Knowledge, Skill and Abilities Must have experience or advanced training and demonstrate proficiency in a wide range of controls hardware and software. Successful track record of managing an engineering team in a wide-range of activities including projects and support of plant operations. Demonstrates strong leadership skills. Experience with data integrity requirements. Display a solid understanding of PLCs, HMI software, vision inspection, robotics, and electrical systems. Technical proficiency in Allen-Bradley systems including PLC5, SLC, RS Logix 5000, and the Factory Talk suite of products. Recognized as a technical expert by peers and other personnel within the business unit. Extensive cross-functional team experience, including technical and non-technical work. Ability to organize and present technical and project management overviews without assistance. Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and drawings. Must have basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members. Required Education and Experience B.S. degree in Engineering and minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role. Demonstrated success in delivering results on several technical challenges.
