The Operations Manager - Pharmacy is responsible for meeting the
needs of internal and external Hospital customers and supporting
the department by providing a variety of pharmacy services.
This position provides the knowledge and skills to meet physician,
patient, staff, and/or hospital needs and performs in accordance
with hospital standards and policies.
This position is a highly trained individual who interprets
physician's orders and compounds and dispenses medications and
other pharmaceuticals under critical time constraints and operates
under minimal supervision.
The Operations Manager Pharmacist / Clinical provides leadership
through development and involvement in clinical pharmacy programs
and services and hospital quality initiatives.

Assists in the development of the drug formulary and provides
guidance and clinical information to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics
Plans, develops, and provides drug information and education to
physicians, nursing staff, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and
other health care professionals.
Ensures that patient care needs are met.
Ensures a safe, accurate, and effective medication use process.
The Operations Manager Pharmacist / Clinical is responsible to
provide staff direction of technical expertise and assuring that
standard practices, that govern performance of job activities, are

day-to-day operation of functional areas and support the department
in scheduling, training, and prioritizing work for others.
Acts as a role model and conduit between senior leadership and the
work team, as needed.

Bachelor's of Science (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an
accredited school of pharmacy required.
Minimum three years of experience in hospital pharmacy or two years
in a clinical pharmacy setting
Understands risk(s) associated with the preparation of hazardous
substances and adheres to detailed policies and procedures to
reduce the risk of occupational exposure.
Maintains compliance with Hazardous Drug Physical requirements as
set forth by FRMC Employee Health Committee approval process and
completion of all required competencies.
Must have a current Pharmacist license in the State of NC, or be
able to obtain one by the date of hire. The license must be in good
standing with the NC State Board of Pharmacy.
