No Travel - Pay commensurate with experienceJOB SUMMARY:Our Nursing
team members primary goal is to provide the most remarkable patient
experience while providing professional nursing services and
patient care in a variety of inpatient settings. The Director of
Inpatient Services collaborates with physicians and
multidisciplinary team to provide physical and psychological
support to team members, patients and families. The Director
functions as an advisor and resource for the nursing leadership
team as well as other assigned clinical departments. He/she will
demonstrate multiple skills such as leadership, mentorship,
teaching, financial, as well as good communication
skills.Experience:5 years of previous clinical experience in
nursing preferred.3 years of management experience
preferred.Knowledge of clinical practice, nursing administration
and human relations.License/Certifications:Must be licensed a
Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of NC.Current CPR
Certification.ACLS certification obtained within 6 months of
hire.PALS certification obtained within 6 months of hire.NRP
Certification preferred.MSN preferred.Expected Hours of Work:
Monday through Friday, general business hours. Forty (40) hours per
week. Evening, weekend, and holidays when necessary.ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS:Director of Clinical Services:Assigns duties and
coordinates nursing functions.Observes, supervises and evaluates
nursing care and visits patients to ensure that nursing care is
carried out as directed; treatments are administered in accordance
with physicians instructions. Keeps informed of special
circumstances/situations concerning patients.Determines QI monitors
and assigns appropriate nursing staff to oversee the QI process in
various clinical areas.Assesses education needs of staff.
Coordinates in-service programs based on the educational needs of
the staff with the Education Department.Knowledgeable of clinical
nursing practice.Ensures that nursing care is provided in
conformance with the North Carolina Nurse Practice Act.Prepares
nursing schedule according to patient needs.Collaborates with
Nursing Leadership Council to develop goals for Nursing
Services.Performs direct patient care activities as needed.Assesses
needs of nursing and other assigned clinical
departments.Participates in the development of budges, resources
allocation and operational plans in relation to the hospitals
mission and strategic plan.Develops programs to promote
recruitment, retention, development, performance evaluation and
continuing education of clinical staff.Evaluates current nursing
practice and patient care delivery models to improve quality and
efficiency of care and participates in organizations QI
program.Handles interpersonal relationships with nursing personnel
in a way to enhance labor relations with staff.Is able to express
competency by knowledge of patient needs throughout the life cycle,
to include neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients and
validates qualifications, knowledge and skills of nursing personnel
through established mechanism.Develops and ensures compliance of
organization wide patient care programs, policies and procedures
that describe how patients nursing care needs are assessed,
evaluated and met.Implements an effective, ongoing program to
measure, assess and improve the quality of all clinical care
services delivered to patients.Establishes nursing policies and
procedures, nursing standards of patient care, standards of nursing
practice and standards to measure, assess and improve patient
outcomes.Attends and may assist in coordination of Nursing
Leadership Council meetings along with the CNO.Monitors and
controls FTE budget in assigned areas.Monitors and controls expense
items against budget.Monitors overtime against budget.Completes
department budgets as assigned and meets deadline.Analyzes and
recommends new revenue/enhancements.Makes recommendations as to the
purchase of capital equipment items in budget process.Analyzes
department needs/problems. Decisive in matters requiring prompt
attention. Carefully considers alternatives before making
decisions.Keeps superiors informed of department development and
outcomes of problem resolution. Reports concerns to Senior
Leadership as appropriate.Demonstrates mission and values of the
facility.Manages time appropriately to meet department
needs.Attends Department Director meeting.Promotes the culture of
safely by attending Safety meetings.Understands and submits correct
forms for ordering equipment, supplies, education, and expense
reimbursement.Monitors and reviews the occurrences reporting system
and follows up with staff and Patient Advocate.Reviews department
policies at least annually. Reviews disaster/safety polices for
department. Maintains and reviews standards for TJC on an on-going
basis.Counsels regularly with subordinates about their performance.
Uses appropriate forms according to policy.Follows appropriate
steps of the hiring/termination process.Submits payroll accurately
via Kronos System on employees/contract employees according to
designated times.Adheres to Salaried Employee Policy. Sends
itinerary to Senior Leader on Friday of every week.Completes annual
employment requirements such as annual employee health and Health
and Safety Inservice commonly referred to as ADI.Maintains
regulatory requirements/certifications of current active nursing
license, BLS, ACLS, NRP and PALS certifications.Adheres to the
Attendance Policy based on the standard outlined in the
policy.Communicates effectively with others, works together as a
team.Maintains confidentiality.Supports the hospital and promotes a
positive attitude.Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and
clean.Wears identification while on dutyAdheres to the HIPPA and
privacy policies and procedures. Reports any violation or
appearance of violation of the policies and procedures and/or laws
and regulations addressed in the Compliance Plan and the hospital
Code of Conduct to the Compliance Officer, a member of Senior
Leadership, or to the Department Director.Must be willing to
receive all required vaccinations (i.e., flu shot, etc.). All new
employees working must be fully vaccinated as a condition of
employment (unless the new hire has requested and received an
