Overview --MSICU is a 24 bed ICU with a large variety of medical surgical patients with complications ranging from diabetes, hypertension, COPD, kidney failure, sepsis, multi-system organ failure, ARDS as well as overflow patients from post-op trauma/stroke/vascular surgery/ women's and more. Most treatment plans include special procedures, titration/administration of vasoactive, inotropic, or antiarrhythmic medications, use of mechanical ventilation equipment, and continuous renal replacement therapy. -We see a large volume and variety of patients in our ICUs as we are our region's only trauma center (for 19 counties) and a secondary/tertiary referral center. If you are an ICU nurse who is passionate about driving excellent patient care with a strong multidisciplinary team, then this unit could be a great fit for you!--Role Summary:-Provides leadership which facilitates the delivery of professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Implements medically prescribed interventions.-Required Education:-Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Effective 3/1/18 Bachelor of Science in Nursing OR enroll in a BSN or advanced degree program within 6 months AND obtain a BSN within 4 years of hire date into RN position. Previous signed BSN commitment letter OR grandfathering will be accepted between departments and Mission Health entities.
