Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Medical-Surgical Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00-07:00, every other weekend Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: NC or compact license Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: - Experience with Cerner electronic health records - IV competency Job Description: - Orientation occurs twice monthly. - Work in a 355-bed facility known for specialized centers including Brain, Cancer, Heart, Lung, Orthopedics, General & Vascular Surgery, Surgical Weight Loss, Women's Center, and Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. - Engage with emergency and inpatient rehab units, as well as a surgical suite and imaging departments. - Flexible float requirements, potentially involving shifts in surgical, neuro, and intermediate care units, accommodating medical-surgical level patients. - Handle a patient population predominantly consisting of adult and geriatric medical-surgical cases. - Maintain a patient ratio of 1:6. - Utilize equipment such as Baxter IV pumps, Sequential Compression Device (SCD) machines, Kangaroo feeding pumps, and Patient-Controlled Analgesia (PCA) pumps. - Engage with a range of common diagnoses including COPD exacerbation, gastrointestinal bleeds, diabetic complications, wound care, pancreatitis, sickle cell crisis, sepsis, infections, end-of-life care, falls, and general weakness. - Seek individuals who are team players and strong patient advocates---able to maintain efficiency on a busy floor. - Required education includes an associate or bachelor's degree in nursing. - Dress code permits any scrub color. This position is intended to replace a contractor, focusing on providing consistent and high-quality patient care within a dynamic healthcare setting.
