Registered Nurse (RN) | Operating Room Location: Jefferson, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,126 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Current nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS required Must-Have: Experience in General Operating Room settings and various surgical procedures. Description: Minimum years of experience required is 2 years. Traveler experience is not required. Locals will be accepted and rate differences apply. Required skills include experience in general OR settings, colonoscopy, EGD, and laparoscopic-assisted cases. Experience in appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, and hernia repair (inguinal/umbilical) is necessary. Candidates should be knowledgeable in laparoscopic-assisted procedures, abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy, bilateral tubal ligation, and C-sections. Skills in dilation & curettage, laparoscopic-assisted gynecological procedures, cataract extraction/implant, and vitrectomy are important. Experience with anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, arthroscopy, arthrotomy, and carpal tunnel release is required. Candidates must be comfortable with closed and open reduction of fractures and total joint replacement. Familiarity with cystoscopy, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, administration of blood products, and cardiac monitoring is necessary. Experience in conscious sedation monitoring, infection control, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, and starting peripheral IVs is required. Knowledge of universal protocol (time out) procedures and urinary bladder catheterization is important. Experience in PACU (recovery) is a plus. Preferred skills include experience in ambulatory OR settings and bronchoscopy. Candidates should be familiar with peg tube placement/exchange, scrub roles in endoscopic surgery, mastectomy, general surgery, and thyroidectomy (partial/total). Experience in scrub roles for ophthalmology surgery, arthroscopic surgeries, orthopedic surgeries, circumcision, and transurethral resection of the prostate is preferred. Knowledge in emergency management, fire safety, latex allergy, malignant hyperthermia, and wound management is desirable. The patient diagnoses include appendicitis, bowel obstructions, cholecystitis, ureteral stones, orthopedic patients, and ophthalmic patients. Special procedures include appendectomy, bowel resection, screening and diagnostic colonoscopy, EGD, cholecystectomy, general orthopedic procedures, cataracts, C-sections, hysterectomy, hysteroscopy, ablative procedures, ureteral stenting, cystoscopy, urolift, and prostate biopsy. Special equipment includes orthopedic equipment and endoscopic systems. Candidates should be comfortable working in an interdisciplinary environment and be prepared for unexpected tasks or changes in patient assignments.
