referral center, offering specialized care across multiple
disciplines. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit has 9 beds, with a
nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 to 2 in PICU and 1:2 to 3 in
stepdown. Unit support includes a unit secretary and a shared tech.
Key equipment includes Alaris pumps, with documentation managed
through Cerner. In a 6-week schedule, a commitment to working 3
weekends is required. Floating to pediatrics and neonatal intensive
care is included in the staffing policy. Required procedures on the
unit include IV starts, central line dressing changes, hemodynamic
monitoring, trach care, and ventilator management. The dress code
consists of navy blue or white uniforms. Policies and guidelines
