Registered Nurse (RN) | Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Location: Asheville, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,012 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 10.5 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Must have CVICU or CVRU experience. Critical care training. A love for surgical heart care. High energy and an upbeat personality. Description: This is a 19-bed mixed unit providing CVICU and CVRU care. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:2 or 1:1 depending on acuity. Holdover downgraded patients may have a ratio of 1:3. The unit has highly trained charges available to assist with any issues. An educator will guide the orientation process for new staff. The unit performs approximately 850 heart surgeries each year. Core nurses are trained in various critical care and heart care aspects. The unit regularly utilizes advanced cardiac devices such as ECMO, Impella, IABP, and LVADs. This is a high acuity unit with a friendly atmosphere focused on excellent patient care. GE monitors and Cerner EMR are used throughout the unit. The ideal candidate should possess skills in hemodynamics, frequent patient ambulation, and chest tube and pacer wire management. Experience with intubation and extubation is also beneficial. The best personality fit is a high-energy, friendly nurse who is a lifelong learner with critical and cardiac care skills. Certification in critical care, cardiac surgery, or recovery room care is preferred. Nurses should arrive ready for work no earlier than 7 minutes prior to shift start.
