Registered Nurse (RN) | Med/Surg / Telemetry Location: Winston Salem, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,338 per week Shift Information: Days - 4 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 48 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in MedSurg/Tele License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: 2 years of MedSurg/Tele experience required Description: We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our MedSurg/Tele unit. The unit has 29 beds, with a patient ratio of 1 RN to 5-6 patients and 1 CNA to 9-10 patients. Common patient diagnoses include general medicine, diabetes, gastrointestinal issues, respiratory conditions, renal problems, and wound care. The nurse will be responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care. Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential. The role requires the ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team. Solid written and oral communication skills are necessary. Candidates should be able to tolerate moderate to high stress levels. Experience in reading telemetry strips is critical. Skills in managing chest tubes, tracheostomies, PIV starts, drains, and PCA pumps are required. Knowledge of medication management, including Amiodarone, Fentanyl PCA, Ketamine PCA, Dilaudid PCA, and Heparin, is important. Support within the department includes a CNA, a receptionist, a charge nurse, and shared responsibilities with phlebotomy. There is a rapid response team and RT, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage available 24/7. Centralized telemetry monitoring is utilized. The electronic medical record system is Epic, with Alaris for IV pumps and Omnicell for medication dispensing. Nurses may be required to float to other MedSurg units. Weekend rotations are expected every other week, with no call obligations. Travelers will work 75% of holidays, and requests for time off require manager approval. Shift times are either 0630-1900 or 1830-0630, with a 6-week scheduling cycle. The unit culture focuses on patient-centered care, high reliability, and strong teamwork.
