Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU Boone, North Carolina 13-Week
Assignment | Start Date: 03/23/2026 Night Shift – 3x12s (7:00 PM –
7:00 AM) Competitive Travel Pay – $85/hr Base Bill Rate This
opportunity is with Watauga Medical Center, part of Appalachian
Regional Healthcare System. We are seeking experienced ICU RNs for
a 13-week travel contract. Candidates must be highly flexible and
comfortable floating as needed. Position Overview - Unit: ICU
(Standard ICU – Track 2 Model) - Patient Ratio: 1:1–2 - EMR: EPIC
(proficiency required) - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
(up to 2 per month) - Floating: Required to IMCU and MedSurg based
on census This ICU treats adolescents, adults, and geriatric
patients. While pediatric patients are not frequent, candidates
must be comfortable caring for them when necessary. Required
Experience - Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience (required) -
Travel experience required - Strong ventilator management skills -
Experience managing multi-system organ failure - Dysrhythmia
interpretation and management - IV drips & vasopressor titration -
Central line & arterial line management - Continuous IV sedation -
ABG interpretation - BiPAP/CPAP & High Flow Nasal Cannula
management Required Certifications (All must be current and not
expire during contract) - BLS (AHA) - ACLS (AHA) - NIHSS - PALS
(AHA) Must hold an active North Carolina RN license or Compact
(Multistate) License. Schedule Details - 3x12-hour night shifts -
6:45 PM – 7:15 AM - Weekdays every other weekend - Floating
required based on patient volume Facility Requirements - EPIC
experience required - All white or all navy scrubs - COVID-19
vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only) - Must live 40
miles from facility (Driver’s license required for address
verification) - Must include NURSYS report and complete submission
documentation Observed holidays include New Year’s Day,
