Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Title: Registered Nurse – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Location: Hickory, NC 28602 Facility: Catawba Valley Medical Center Contract Length: 13 Weeks Start Date: March 23, 2026 Shift: Night Shift – 3 × 12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized care for neonates and infants in a Level III/IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The RN will work closely with neonatologists and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care to critically ill newborns. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care to neonates in the NICU. Monitor and manage critically ill newborns requiring intensive support. Operate and monitor ventilator support systems including: AC PC SIMV CPAP BiPAP PEEP Assess patient conditions and respond to medical emergencies. Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation. Collaborate with neonatologists and interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and social workers. Support family education and neonatal care planning. Required Qualifications Active RN License (North Carolina or Compact State) Minimum 2–3 years NICU experience Travel experience required Certifications Required: BLS NRP STABLE (preferred/required by unit) Experience managing NICU ventilators and respiratory support HonorVet Technologies Job ID 31974351.
