Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ED - Emergency Department - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Title: Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ER) Location: Hickory, NC 28602 Facility: Catawba Valley Medical Center Contract Length: 13 Weeks Start Date: March 23, 2026 Shift: Night – 3x12 hours (19:00 – 07:00) Job Summary : Catawba Valley Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The RN will provide high-quality care to adult and pediatric patients, including cardiac and neurological emergencies. The role includes triage, IV therapy, blood product administration, and emergency response interventions. Travel experience is required. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. Manage triage and treatment for general ER patients, including adult and pediatric cases. Perform cardiac monitoring, interpret dysrhythmias, and manage emergency responses. Administer medications, including IV vasopressors, and maintain IV therapy and central lines. Conduct phlebotomy and blood product administration. Manage patients with neurological emergencies such as CVA (stroke). Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols. Float within the hospital as needed. Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, 3 years preferred. Active RN license in North Carolina (pending licenses considered with ETA). Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (all via AHA). Preferred: CPI/CIC (travelers can obtain if assignment extends beyond 3 months). Travel experience required. EMR experience preferred (Meditech).
