Job Description:
HCA Healthcare is actively seeking a dedicated Nurse Extern to
join our emergency room team on a PRN (as-needed) basis. This
position provides a unique opportunity for nursing students who are
currently enrolled in a nursing program to gain real-world
experience by working alongside seasoned nursing professionals in a
dynamic and high-pressure environment. As an ER Nurse Extern at HCA
Healthcare, you will support our mission to care for and improve
human life by assisting in delivering high-quality,
patient-centered medical care in one of our leading emergency
departments. Assist registered nurses and medical staff in the
delivery of patient care in an emergency setting Perform clinical
tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and
documenting patient information Prepare treatment rooms for patient
examinations, keeping the environments sterile and organized
Support patient comfort by assisting with personal hygiene and
other care needs Participate in educational and training
opportunities to advance knowledge and skills under the supervision
of experienced personnel Strong clinical skills Ability to handle a
fast-paced environment Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills Basic understanding of health information technology systems
Capability to adhere to safety and health protocols Medical
Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required upon hire or must
be obtained within a short period after commencement. Active status
as a Nurse Extern with the state board of nursing if applicable in
your state.
