Job Description:
HCA Healthcare invites applications for the position of Nurse
Extern in the Progressive Care Unit. This pivotal role supports our
professional nursing staff by assisting in delivering high-quality
care to patients with critical or complex health conditions. As
part of our dedicated team, you will gain invaluable hands-on
experience in a dynamic, patient-centered healthcare setting. This
PRN (as-needed) position offers a flexible schedule in a supportive
environment where compassionate care meets clinical excellence.
Assist nursing staff with patient care duties such as monitoring
vital signs, administering medication, and documenting patient
status. Provide direct patient care under the supervision of
registered nurses. Support the health care team in the
implementation of patient treatment plans. Ensure the comfort and
safety of patients. Participate in educational sessions and
clinical rounds. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Basic
understanding of healthcare and medical terminology Competency in
clinical skills relevant to acute care Good organizational and
multi-tasking skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision

certification required or must be obtained within 90 days of
hire.
