This role offers an opportunity to provide specialized nursing care in an intermediate stepdown unit, focusing on adult and geriatric patients with complex medical needs. The position requires critical thinking, advanced cardiac rhythm interpretation skills, and proficiency with electronic documentation and various clinical procedures. Travel nurses located at least 50 miles from the facility are eligible to apply. Key Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans. Administer medications and manage advanced cardiac care, including telemetry monitoring and cardiac drips. Provide care for patients with conditions such as CKD, CHF, respiratory failure, sepsis, and more. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care. Educate and support patients and their families throughout the care process. Float to other medical-surgical and telemetry units as needed. Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and professional nursing standards. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current RN license with compact state coverage. BLS and ACLS certification required; CCRN, PCCN, or NIH Stroke Certification preferred. Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience, including at least 6 months acute care. Travel nursing experience preferred. Proficient in dysrhythmia exam (study guide provided). Strong critical thinking, communication, and time management skills. Experience with oxygen therapy, medication administration, wound care, IV insertion, NG tube management, and electronic health records (preferably EPIC).
