Job Title: RN - PCU Profession: RN Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 48 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in Cardiology License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac rhythm interpretation and post-procedural experience. Comfortable with titrating medications such as Argatroban, Digoxin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine, Dofetilde, Dopamine, Esmolol, Lasix, Insulin, Labetalol, Lidocaine, Milrinone, Nicardipine, Nitroglycerine, Sotalol, Tirofiban. Description: RN - PCU position available. The facility is a teaching hospital with a Level 1 Trauma designation. Unit has 28 beds with an average census of 26. The patient population includes individuals with Acute Coronary Syndrome, Heart Failure, NSTEMI/STEMI, Chest Pain, and post-cardiac catheterization procedures. Nursing ratios are RN: 1:4-5 while CNAs assist with obtaining vital signs and basic patient care. Support within the department includes CNAs, medical receptionists, and charge nurses. Telemetry monitoring and respiratory therapy support are available 24/7. Technology used includes EMR systems, IV pumps, and automated medication dispensing. Floating may occur within the cardiology division and any medical-surgical unit as needed.
