A Day in the Life: What You Will Do As a DSP, you are the heart of our mission: empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). You will gain direct, hands-on experience in high-value skills that will set you apart in your field: Patient Care & Support: Provide respectful, hands-on assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), personal care, grooming, and mobility. Healthcare Skills: Gain experience in medication administration , monitoring physical and mental health needs, and preparing nutritious meals. Case Management & Advocacy: Serve as a patient advocate and participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Support Plans (ISPs). Clinical Documentation: Complete all necessary documentation of care, service provision, and medication logs?a critical skill in all healthcare fields. Behavioral Support: Learn to implement positive behavior supports, follow person-centered support plans, and use de-escalation strategies. What You Bring to the Table (Qualifications) We believe in hiring for heart and training for skill. What We Require (The Must-Haves): A compassionate, patient, and encouraging attitude A strong desire to learn and gain hands-on healthcare experience 18 years old or older A High School Diploma or GED A valid driver's license, reliable transportation/vehicle, and valid auto insurance Ability to pass a background check What We Value (Our Ideal Candidate): Students & Pre-Professionals: Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a program in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Pre-Med, child education, or a related human services field. Natural Caregivers: Have you been an unpaid family caregiver for a loved one? We recognize your skills are valuable and will train you. Experienced Professionals: Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Personal Care Aide (PCA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a major plus.
