Job Description:
Quality Control Inspector Shift 2nd Shift - Standard 2nd Shift
hours are 03:30pm 12:00am Monday through Friday. Job Purpose: It is
the responsibility of the QC inspector to ensure that product
fulfills all quality standards and specifications in both
appearance and function. Product must not be released unless it
satisfies business and regulatory standards as well as customer
quality expectations. Duties and Responsibilities / Essential
Functions: Inspect raw material, layout masters, in-process work in
order to assure all job requirements are met. Examination of
product includes but is not limited to label checks, verification
of quantity, proof reading, spell checking, barcode inspection,
verification of spec sheet information, measurements, verifying
color and paper type, placement of perforation/no perforation,
numbering, glue placement and effectiveness, packaging, etc. Stop
production activities as necessary when product does not meet
specifications. Initiate NCRs or corrective action requests as
required due to nonconformance or other impact to product quality.
Make records of all quality activities per specified procedures.
Assure compliance with safety and health regulations and good
housekeeping practices within assigned areas, as well as compliance
with all quality specifications. Maintain all required
documentation of work performed and ensure that all forms and
materials are labeled properly. Assist with Failure Investigations,
Root Cause and Corrective Action, and Validation activites as
necessary. The list of duties and responsibilities is not
exhaustive and may be substituted as necessary. Minimum
Requirements: Education: Two years college coursework or associates
degree (or equivalent) Other Training: Certifications such as ASQ's
Quality Process Analyst, Quality Inspector, or Quality Technician a
plus Experience: 2-5 years' experience in production quality
inspection preferred Skills: Exceptional organizational,
negotiation, and problem solving skills Ability to work in a
matrixed organizational structure, developing strong relationships
with all levels of management Basic computer skills for data entry
and e-mail (Excel and other Office Suite programs) Acute attention
to detail, very observant Ability to proof read (match product to
master layout for content, structure, placement, measurement,
color, layers, etc.) and catch spelling errors even when present on
the master file Ability to interpret and implement sampling plans,
e.g. ANSI z1.4, c=0. Work Environment: Temperature controlled
office and manufacturing environment with large printing and
related equipment. Physical Requirements: Sitting, standing,
walking, stooping, bending, squatting, leaning, climbing stairs and
ability to lift 40 pounds.
