Top 3 requirements: 1) Experience with high-speed automation
development equipment 2) Experience designing in Solidworks,
specifically working with and structuring large assemblies. 3) Use
of a PDM system, especially WindChill.
Summary: responsible for the mechanical design of high-speed
automation equipment, collaborating with controls engineering
function and process development. Involves the application of
scientific and technological principles encompassed in mechanics,
thermodynamics, metallurgy, and machine design used for the design,
production, operation, and use of the machinery of all types.
Requirements: Applies advanced technical application of
engineering theories, concepts, principles, and techniques. Works
on unusually complex and potentially broad-reaching technical
problems and provides solutions that are highly innovative and
ingenious. Works under consultative direction towards
pre-determined long-range goals and objectives. Work is checked
through consultation and agreement. Experience with the design of
automation and material handling systems a must. Good knowledge of
mechanical engineering theory i.e. trained to perform approximate
analysis by hand. Good spatial intuition. Experience designing in
Solidworks, specifically working with and structuring large
assemblies. Use of a PDM system, especially WindChill. Mechanical
detailing in Solidworks. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing to
ASME Y14.5:2009. Sizing or working with suppliers to select
off-the-shelf components such as motors, bearings etc.
Desirable: Design of weldments.
Required: Education: BS mechanical engineering Minimum
