Position Overview:

The Siemens Mobility Customer Services SCM Order Management & Logistics Team is seeking a Logistics Project Professional. This role will order transportation services to the approved nominated forwarders and carriers to acquire services at the lowest cost consistent with quality, deliver reliability and to the necessity of project's need. One will maintain the lead times for the international and domestic transportation, customs clearance, and align with the logistics corporate and logistics category team to monitor the forwarders' performance, and quality as negotiated terms and conditions. This position will assist the Supply Chain Management team in driving its strategies at a tactical level. This position will be located in Lexington, NC.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Maintain, update, communicate relevant information (regarding delivery schedules, transit lead times and contract information) from suppliers, procurement, and logistic service provider.
  • Monitor and analyze operational transportation status of the deliveries in the Internal Corporate and external Monitoring Systems to make sure the required agreed transit time (projected vs. actual time from ready for shipment to physical delivery to destination point), required turnaround time for booking transportation, informs involved stakeholders in time and derives and implement corrective/ alternative measures to adopt to changing situations.
  • Complete and communicate deficiency and transport status reports for the stakeholders.
  • Organize needed customs procedures and prepare paperwork for the customs brokers as well as forwarding to the destination point after customs clearance.
  • Work in conjunction with the Buyers' team, corporate logistics team for improving total cost of ownership of products/ services
  • Coordinate return of logistic infrastructure and on-site equipment used and steers respective logistics operations with logistics service providers.
  • Support Projects in development, calculation and implementation of logistics contingency measures, gains alignment on project prioritization and requirements.
  • Process claims with logistics service providers using Siemens tool EZ-Claim

    To thrive in this role, you have:
    • High School Diploma/GED. In lieu of Bachelor's degree, a combination of education and Siemens relevant work experience will be considered
    • A minimum of 2 years relevant logistics project work experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    • Excellently demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining an individual workload
    • Setting you apart from others would be a Bachelor's degree with knowledge in SAP and SharePoint and experience with Power BI and Automation process
    • Experience with logistics system CASS for processing invoices from logistics service providers is preferred

The base salary range for this position in Lexington, NC is $53,600 - $72,500. The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
