Job Description:
Nesco Resource in Hickory is hiring for an experienced Lab
Technician for the Lincolnton area! Shift: 3rd, Rotating (2,2,3),
7pm-7am The Lab Technician will provide assistance to the Lab
Supervisor with the day-to-day lab operations, testing all samples
from each production lines and providing a quality product to our
customers. General Duties and Responsibilities: Apply skills
required to test production samples for all production lines using
established testing procedures for tensile strength, elongation,
compression, weight, thickness, oil and water repellency, burn
rate, shrinkage, blocking, adhesive bonding and incoming chemical
testing. Test all production samples and request retest samples
immediately and provide the test results to the Operator/
Supervisor. Assure that all tests meet product
specifications/requirements by Informing the machine
operators/Supervisors of test results and any production failures.
Document and enter all testing data results and retest in Canias in
a timely manner. Document all test results in Canias, MS Excel, and
MS Word. Make decisions when the product meets or does not meet
specifications with little or no supervision. Block all
nonconforming material in Canias (1099) that does not meet
specifications and Temporary holds from inspection Support
production with quality decisions as needed. Support R&D with
testing for trials and communicate the test results in a timely
manner. Prepare, verify and email test results for "Certificate of
Analysis " to customers. Observe, report, and correct (when
appropriate) all unsafe conditions that may result in potential
accidents. Complete Quality surveillance daily on all lines.
Complete the daily housekeeping checklist. Store and identify all
testing retains. Responsible for covering vacations as needed.
Special Skills and Requirements: Flexible availability/working
hours Ability to multi-task in a rapidly changing environment
Positive communication skills, including the use of
telephone/email. Above average math and reading skills. Ability to
perform tasks with little or no supervision. Above average computer
skills include the use of Windows based programs. High school
diploma/GED equivalent. Ability to meet production standards as set
by the company. Follow all PPE/Safety requirements according to
Tenowo policies. The ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40
pounds. The ability to stand, bend, or stoop as needed to perform
all Lab duties. The ability to walk/stand the duration of each
